WrICE Writers Present at RMIT Practice Research Symposium

WrICE Writers Jhoanna Lyn B. Cruz and Alvin Pang presented their practice based PHD examinations at RMIT’s Practice Research Symposium this month – an intensive, twice-yearly gathering of research candidates, supervisors and audiences. Alvin explores a practice of creative writing within a Singaporean context, challenging assumptions in considering what it means to work across multiple languages, genres, careers and communities. Jhoanna’s dissertation examines “how being a lesbian writer in the Philippines is a constant struggle to assert one’s presence when faced with various levels of invisibility and oppression ingrained into our language and culture.’
