Two sisters prepare curry mee in Air Hitam, Penang

On our last full morning, some of us visited Air Hitam (black water) and ate curry mee from the two sisters (famous for their hawker food) – vermicelli, egg noodle, broth, tofu, chilli paste, shrimp and something like coconut broth (a spoonful). (We chose not to eat the blood cubes.) Ho chaik (delicious). We ate it with coffee ping.

Then we visited another store and ate assam laska with rice noodle and mint, lettuce and chilli, served with sugar cane. More ho chaik!

After that there was no excuse: home to write.
